About Me

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #140521 at Bloom Therapy LA. I come to the work of therapy with eight years of experience working in the non-profit sector. I also bring with me a Bachelor's degree in English Literature and a lifelong love of reading. My own experiences in therapy inform my work, and helped me to get in touch with my most authentic self.

My Training

I received a Master's of Science in Counseling Psychology from Mount Saint Mary's University. I completed a traineeship at the Maple Counseling Center, where I was trained in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic theories and practices. I have also received training in Emotionally Focused Therapy. In addition to my work in private practice, I have worked with mental health and dual diagnosis clients in intensive outpatient programs, treating adults, adolescents and families. Through my experience in multiple levels of care, I have worked with diverse clientele challenged by mood disorders, anxiety disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and the effects of trauma. I love working with individuals and couples who are looking to gain a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships, and their life's meaning.

My Approach

I will view you holistically, and aim to help you to discover your truest and deepest self. For me, working with a psychodynamic and attachment oriented lens means helping you to understand how your early experiences have shaped the way you interact with yourself, others, and the world around you. I will work with you to understand what was internalized while you were growing up, and use this insight to break out of patterns that aren't serving you. I will also help you to access the depths of your psyche, get back in touch with your inner child, and understand what brings you joy and fulfillment.

I am trained in being culturally sensitive, LGBTQ+ affirming, sex-positive, and non-judgmental. I value being anti-patriarchy and anti-racist, and when appropriate bring these lenses into therapy to look out how larger systems affect your mental health.
